Looking for a yote scope for my .223. Shots 300 yrds and under realistically. And looking for something good in low light and night hunting by moonlight and snow cover. Has anyone tried the illuminated reticles for this and how do they compare to standard. I have a tasco 2.5-10x right now. I like the power range with this just looking for something better quality

I have a 6X Zeiss that is about 20 years old. Great scope for all but completely black nights. I do not like the illuminated reticles. IMO they are too bright. However the Zeiss has a very heavy crosshair, which stands out. I have it mounted on an H&K 91. I have done a lot of night shooting with this rig. It is an awesome rig.
The Zeiss is a more expensive scope. However the fixed power Zeiss scope is a lot less. Especially if you shop around and find a god used one. I have had mine for 20 years. When you average out the life time of use you get from quality optice-they really are not that expensive. I honestly do not remember what I paid for it 20 years ago, However I am sure it is worth at least twice as much now. So just tell your wife that good glass is an investment
