Default bobcat around my patch

i recently found out i have a bobcat around my hunting patch i found out cause i saw tracks and ive heard him hiss at me from the the bushes behind my patch and i was wondering if i want to get rid of him how should i get him to come into my patch my idea was to kill a deer or a small game animal and then through out some of the meat into the patch and hope he comes in for the meat. him or whatever else comes for it. and he isnt a big bobcat hes probably a juvenile. if u have any tips or suggestions that would help please post them on this forum thread or pm me if u want. thanks

Settwo #2 coilspring traps buried lightly under some dirt and hang a fresh chicken wing about three feet over the trap.

You can do al that after you have trapped it. Or, it you want a different challenge in terms of calling it in or trying to shoot it over bait, then I will have to defer to other folks here. My experience is only in trapping them.

my dad says trapping it and then shooting it isnt very sportsman like and it takes away some of the fun in waiting for him to appear out of the woods into the patch.

Dunno if there is much of a difference in challenge in terms of trying to get it into a trap versus sitting there and shooting it when it comes to bait. Trying to call it in would probably be more challenging. But then again, if you are just looking to get rid of it, then it shouldnt matter how you do it.

From what I hear I could be wrong and bobcats are extremely timid and easily frightened, I think the bait will work but the other question is how long is it going to take him to wonder into that? That would be the only downfall and if you leave the bait out at night him or his friends the coyotes could come deplete your bait source but I say try it and if you get him you just got a great fur for your wall
