Default 22 pistol

I've had an old Ruger for about 30 yrs and its been flawless. I'm considering purchasing a new pistol for hunting small game. Any recommendations regarding brands such as Ruger, Browning etc. Thanks

I'd keep the old Ruger if it is as good as you say.

If by Ruger you mean a Mark I/II then all you need is a "Good" trigger job by an expert and have it re crowned. Then it's just a matter of finding out what amo brand and type it likes, then buy the hell out of that type and batch number. You will be absolutely amazed!

I have an old markII and a single six and they have both been good for squirrel and other little critters over the years. If it has good adjustable sights then it should work fine my markII is only adjustable for windage but thats the only adjustment it needs the elevation is a close to dead on as my eyes are so it's perfectly capable of good accuracy if you can hold it steady,I like my single six a little better seems a little more accurate but I have an older markII with a shorter barrel and not as long of a sight plane to focus on.Good Luck!!

I just pulled out my old Ruger. I purchased it in 1972. It has fixed sights and doesn't indicate a model no. I guess it is basically a mark 1. I'm hoping that adjustable sights will help with acccuracy. Thanks
