could you use a slug for coyotes don't care if the pelts get ruined

yeah you can use a slug for coyotes either that or number 4 or even 2 shot will work

Oh yeah, a slug will lay down a dog, but you need to make sure it's legal to be out with slug outside of shotgun season. In Illinois you can " use anything in a shotgun besides a slug outside of deer shotgun season". I think that dead coyote by heavy shot is even better than any buck shot out there.
