I use just about any caliber for yotes depends on what i have with me at the time. Ive killed them with the follwing calibers 22LR, 223, 30-30, 308, 30-06,357 magnum, 44 magnum, 38 special, 45acp, 9mm, 410, 20 ga, and 12 ga. Ive found with shotguns steel shot in size T or TT even F works great at close range even better then OO buck in some cases. theres no limits for to big for yotes their a varmint so anything that will make them dead is fine.

lets see, hide prices suck right now. if a rancher will pay for the ears, don't hit it in the head. what fur remains can be used for tying flies. you still have something to feed the other varmints and crows, which equals more shooting for you. nope, the .30-30 isn't too big.

.. and the big prize for the right guess goes to HeadHunter300Win. The gun is a Barrett M82A1 topped by a NightForce scope and a Suppressor on the end to get the noise down to about .243 level. The gun was fun for a while, but someone else wanted it worse and it now resides in someone elses gun closet. Imagine 10 rounds of rapid fire 750 grain AMax bullets .... too much is just not enough
