Coyotes Need Help
#1
Im St.Louis Missouri And The weekend after thanksgiving I'll be going down to my Uncles Land and there Is a Bit of a coyote problem. Now I have a .270 Savage so I'm pretty sure a power problem is not of concern there is some dense woods with tree stands and a few pasture with outlining woods and we have an extra blind I was just wondering if you guys have a tip/hunt plan for this plot and Electronic Calls are LEGAL

The biggest thing is to play the wind, thats the most important tip you can get. Call at low volume at first, louder as you go. If there is a coyote problem, be ready for action quick.

I would think that a blind would be a waste of time unless you have a bait station in mind...
Play the wind, call, and move.... Move about a 1/4 mile or so and call again....
Cover that ground...

If coyote hunting is what you are worried about, I cant help you.
If coyote eradication is on your mind, then I can tell you the most surefire way to trap one, is to dig a 2 foot deep hole horizontally into the side of a small hill and stuff a dead chicken inside (local chicken houses should have plenty laying around) wire a leg catch trap to a tree and place it about 8 inches in front of the hole opening. Put several around as coyotes travel in packs. There is just something about a dead stinking chicken that drives them wild.
