If coyote eradication is on your mind, then I can tell you the most surefire way to trap one, is to dig a 2 foot deep hole horizontally into the side of a small hill and stuff a dead chicken inside (local chicken houses should have plenty laying around) wire a leg catch trap to a tree and place it about 8 inches in front of the hole opening. Put several around as coyotes travel in packs. There is just something about a dead stinking chicken that drives them wild.
