If your trying to trap a squirrel what do you use as bait?

id use fresh fruit nuts or corn

last week i got a squirrel in a live trap. i used a mixture of ratfood(had sunflower seeds, and corn in it) peanut butter, and a bit of Rice krispies cereal.

Always got them with a box trap using just about anything for bait. They do love PB and sunflower seeds.

Last fall I caught a handful of them in the Hav-a-Hart and as an evil joke and withno interest in killin them ( I don't eat much squirrel ) I spraypainted them Blaze orange or white and let them go. The neighbors were looking at painted tree rats for weeks.

The man who is training my feist now said he traps spuirrels at several friends' houses. He will paint the tails just to see if they re-trap and they have been known to travel 1-1/2 miles back to their home and getting trapped in the same trap. He baits with corn. I've also had good juck with corn or the Wal-Mart squirrel feed. Black oil sunflower seeds work really well too.
