I'm in the same boat as you and I bought one of the Stevens Model 200 223.I'm really happy with this gun.I was suprised how flat it shot.I sighted mine in at 100 yards and could practically put 3 shots in the same hole very accurate.Out to 300 yards I figutred it would dropa couple inches atleastbut did not even drop a half an inch.I found one with a scope on it and $25 of free ammo for $340 tax and all.

Shooting 55 grain bullets. They are just some cheap Wolf brand rounds that I got for free when buying the gun.I was going to upgrade when I ran out (3 boxes), but it shot so good I might just keep shoot'em,ol Stevens seemed to like'em.

they said it, stevens model 200, put a simmons 3x9 by 40 8 point scope on it perfect starter gun for coyotes.
Thats what I started with, I have since upgraded to a savage with the accutrigger. and a6x18 cabellaspine ridge scope, a bipod, a sling, and a simms barrel deresonator, I have it set up real nice. But the coyotes all got mange this year, soI haven't got to use it as much this year.
