"Contrary to popular belief,a coyote population can be squashed with the right bunch of people, and the heart needed to spend the time doing it."
Yes they certainly can be quashed. But folks have to get together and work at it.

Getting yotes in NJ is not the hard part. Getting the feds to open a liberal season with no restrictions on when or how is the key and also getting permission to trespass and hunt land in this tree hugger state is a bit troublesome.
Most of the accomodating old timers have passed away or retired to warmer climates. The new tree hugging owners of the land don't allow hunters access anymore. This in turn permits the yotes to breed without disruption to their numbers.
A friend of mine was the first person attacked by a coyote in NJ. It was inTowaco, NJ a few years back. She was injured by bites as well as severely breaking her ankle in her attempt to flee the yote. The fracture required surgery and she required rabie shots. Those dogs are brave and when packed up, even braver.
Shoot 'em when ya' can!

ive seen packs of 20 or more.Thats dangerous, and a little creapy when you see them. They arent big but 20 red squirrels hitting you at the same time can mess you up.I saw a coyote one time grab a bag from a guy that just walked out of burger king!theyre bold all right!

I wish we ha coyoties on Long Island.....the only thing around here are feral cats. KIDS, THATS ANOTHER REASON TO BUY A 12 GUAGE WITH A SLUG IN THE BARREL WHILE PLAYING. The only thing around here that feels the wrath of my blazing barrels are feral cats and they reproduce like damn lab mice
