I took this coyot with my .204 Ruger. Shot him behind the ribs, he ran about 25 yards and dropped. Hard to see but the entrance wound is the size of a golf ball, no exit. The v-max left a large open cavity, it seems like it completely disintegrated its insides.

That .204 is a good yote gun although i would help to load your own rounds. If you slow that round down and use a little hevier round it will do excellent. I shot those v-max right out of the box, and as i expected they couldnt anchor that yote, did alot of damage to the pelt also. But then again that yote was only sitting at about 50 yards, got him on the move walking at a right angle away from me. Boy you should have seen him jump, i didnt even see him after the shot he took off like a bat outa hell. Had no problen trailing him though, left a giant blood trail. I found him under a mesquite tree out cold.

what a mess looks like ya hit him with a 50 bmg, other then that he looks like a decent arizona desert dog. what part of az you hunting? up here in yavapai county the yotes are pretty thick also they are getting brave with all the exposure to humans. just to give you an idea how close and personal its been getting I put the 22-250 away and been using the shotgun with a load of 00 buck.

I live close to all those towns. I hunt alot of ranches, Ranch 46 i belive or 47 not sure, is a good area. Them yotes are thick down here too. Shoot i dont even go calling anymore, dont have too. Well thats before the army took me away. I cant wait to get back home and hunt.
