will blackhills 77 gr BTHP do the job? they shoot really nice out of my AR-15. i was thinking of getting some 60 gr V-MAX bullets but have never shot them before and my barrel has a 1x8 twist. will these bullets do fine in my barrel (20 in. long). or will become unstable at ranges over 100 meters. thanks for your remarks and good luck this year.

I'm assuming this is for coyotes? If so, the BTHP will do fine, as will most any other bullet. I'm a big fan of the Hornady V-Max's, but until you geta chance to try some, stick with what you know has been working.
I use 40, 50, and 55 gr. V-Max's, but my barrel has a slower twist. I've also used 52 gr. BTHP with good results.

i believe it would do fine but i wouldnt hunt with the V-Max till you have a chance to shoot it a bit with them but the bthp's will do fine. 77 grain is a heavy one but if it works shoot it. i use 55gr hp's through my ar15 and 62gr bthp's in my savage and remington.

my ultra varmint has a 1-9 twist and it really likes the black hills 52 grain bthp. they shoot good out to 300 yards. always shoots within three inch groups at that distance. those 77 grains are big enough for deer so i know they would be fine for a coyote.
