I also did the chronograph tests, in a variety of temps, ranging from 10 degrees, to 99 degrees, with very little change in velocity.

I, believe, that the hoopla about factory ammo, being so off the marl, was started by reloaders, they that they could feel secure, in their belief, that they are out doing the factories.

Actually, Terry, I have chronographed, a lot of factory loads, and, contrary to popular belief, if you use the same length barrel or longer, as the factory's, you usually get the same numbers or...

The .308 is not superior to the .30-06 in any way, the 30-06 has been in the game longer, and has a more storied history, I'd take 30-06 over .308 anyday.

The .458 Win Mag is father to two of the best magnum cartridges out there, the .300 and .338 Winchester Magnum.:D

It just depends on the bullet weight, in the lighter weight bullets the .308 can keep up with and even best the 30-06, but, with heavier bullet weights, the 30-06 beats the .308 hands down.
