Thanks for the help guys. I actually have a case of triple sevens pellets and triple seven Primers in the same size as the pyrodex I am currently using. The only reason I haven't tried it hunting yet...

Yes you're right about that, it must of had some big brow tines because it was able to dig very deep into that live tree, it is also right in the middle of a rub line of typical looking buck rubs.

Is this tree rub from a deer?

I found one of the largest tree rubs I have ever found but is it from a deer or bear? The reason I ask is because it is near a line of rubs but all the other rub are on trees 1/3rd the size.

Good luck guys. So far this bow season I've only seen one big buck but he never came within 60 yards of me, and just to mess with me the same buck made a huge scrape under my stand and a rub line.

I was told a deer has to hang for atleast a day or two to get all the blood drained, will I hurt the meat by butchering it a couple hours after the kill?

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping he's only 3.5 so I can let him go for another year. He doesn't have great mass, but is a perfectly symmetrical 5x5 which is rare for this area.
