I took Fish & Wildlife Management in college and from what you described and what I can remember I would estimate the fetus is around 25-30 days old. Hope this helps?

Been real slow here in the Mountains of North Carolina. I feel the same way as everyone else. I believe the warm weather and huge acorn crop made the deer harder to predict and pattern than usual.

When I shot he took off like a scared rabbit with his tail up. I wasn't able to get back on him for a second shot. The blood trail started about 50 yrds. from where I shot him. The blood was bright...

I shoot a Rem. 7mm with hornady 164grn. boatail soft points. Which should have rocked his world at this distance. I'll give your suggestion a try though to ease my mind. Thanks

I live in Wilkes Co. but do most of my hunting in Ashe. My biggest buck is a 9pt. with about a 1 1/2 inch kicker off his right brow tine.
