The cape has plenty of opportunity for fishing between the saltwater (groundfish, stripers, blues) and fantastic freshwater fishing.(Cold and warmwater species). Not much hunting ops in the summer....

Well thats good news on the numbers.

I did a few years of Turkeys. Its fun and challenging.But they don't taste as good as deer for me :-)

You are right. The deer love the corn and will eat it all, but its just a filler and adds very little benefit to the deer in any season. IMO, best option is to create winterbrowse for the deer.

PA harvest for 2007: 361,560 deer in 22 WMU's is approx 14,434 avg deer per WMU.

PAharvested almost 4K more deer(per WMU avg)than my whole state, all seasons combined!!

No one is claiming Phil is a liar. Maybe he saw one. But I still beleibe 99.9% of these sightings are BS. Hell, even if PGC admitted they had breedingcougars, I wouldn't beleive most of these claims.

Mountin lions do not put their kill up in trees. That is a charactoristic of the African Leopard. Did you see this deer 40 feet up?

There are lots of reasons the deer could bearound town.

From what I udnerstand, not many Ranch type hunting in Maine. I am sure there are plenty of guides though that can take you out for whats in season with their dogs.(Rabbits maybe?)

I could not access the clip. But I did see some of his links for guides. Lots and lots of privateranches. one palce in Ohio had one fenced buck avaialble for breeding purposes for a price. :eek:

My opinion, habitat is the biggest problem. Less and less farms and edge coverout west and the forests just get more and more mature. There is some logging going on in some areas so that will help....
