I have removed those straps and put my backpack straps through the foot platform and have used the backpack as my shoulder straps. Carries my gear and is much more comfortable than the original...

Shwackers will work fine from your crossbow. Be sure to double up on the rubber bands, or use shrink tube to make your own if you run out.

If you do use the rubber bands that come with them, make sure you use at least 2 of them when firing from a crossbow. Otherwise, what sniperhunter230 said about cutting and using some shrink tube...

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, and new to hunting as well. I always loved shooting, and even downed a few birds when I was a little kid, but never had the equipment or chance to properly go hunting....
