After a bit more reading and in light of the opinions here, I did place the order with night sights. It's a bit cheaper if you buy them up front than add them late after-market. This will be a defensive pistol, primarily. One of the points that sold me was if you use it with a flashlight or in changing light conditions (flipping on a light in your house; going from a dark room to a light one), it would be very difficult to see non-nights.
