I have never had a problem removing something with the Blue 242 LT.

Years ago I remember on the bottle of blue 242 used to say Permanent on .25"or smaller. I haven't seen that in years. I don't know if they changed the formular or what they did.

The only thing red is good for if you know you'll never have to remove it. Once it's there it's there. I will continue to use the blue 242 on my mounts. It's worked for me for many years.

Word of caution. Other thread sealers might be blue in color and be different properties. Loctite blue is #242 and the one I'm speaking of.

I don't know anything about other brands of thread sealers.
