i totally agree with this. pre forumulated drop compensators of any kind are of no use in either reticle or dial especially when we are looking to hit a ground hogs very small upper body at extended ranges common to varmit hunting. aside from the pride fowler, ziess and horus reticle the mill/moa dots reticles are the way to go. it doesnt take long to master them out to acceptable ranges and really they are as accurate as the shooter can judge dot spacing. on the other hand i do agree that dials are more accurate because they show a hard number of compensation and to be able to "aim for hair" does seem to improve at least my own shooting to a moderate degree. so ya, i obviously use both in field. when i need the quickness i go for the reticle, if the game is way out there it probably wont spook anyway i go for the dial. best of both worlds and both option availible on most varmit scopes anyway
