Are you aiming that at me drift? I didn't see anywhere where someone said they had enough of this website? Guys, I try never to say anything with fact. I always say I believe, or IMO.

No, that was meant for Vangunsmiths 6500fps claim. That was a copy/paste the meant for another thread, but it was late and I was tired and it somehow ended up here. My mistake.[:@]

I'll edit accordingly.

Somehow, I don't think van was serious about that claim guys. Looking back he might have meant it as "a bunch of speed".

I had a Winchester model 70 in 7MM Rem Mag. That rifle would not break 3000 fps with a 140 grain bullet. Strange thing about it was that I had a 280 Rem in a 700 model with a 24 inch barrel that would shoot the 140 well over 3200 fps. with no sign of pressure. You just never know. Both guns were pretty accurate. The winchester was one of five 7 Mags that I have owned. The rest lived up to about where they should have. However now I'll take the 280. I have not run into a condition in my years of hunting that 3000 fps in any caliber won't do the job. My now worn out shoulder wishes I had learned it 30 years sooner.
