Help with 45/70 reloading
For handloading the 45/70, who makes bullets for this caliber? I found that Nosler makes one and Barnes has a few. Anyone else? I am looking for a 300 grain bullet that is not a hollow point.
In the factory load category, who produces a good bullet?

Have you looked for cast bullets?....Lyman is a good place to look.....and the 45-70 is a fine candidate for them.
Actually there's a lot of companys that make cast bullets for the old 45-70

Dude forget about them sorry jacketed bullets... what you want is some good hard cast lead bullets...

here's 2 outfits I use for all my 45-70 loading... these bullets got it all over the jacketed stuff for durability and penetration... I'm pushing 405grGC bullets out to just over 2000fps in a long barreled Encore and these things are serious killers... no leading problems, stuff just gets body slammed and dies... and the nice part is you can eat right up to the hole...
