CASE HEAD PROBLEM
#1
I'VE HAD THE PROBLEM OF SOME OF THE CASES I WAS RESIZING STICKING IN THE DIE.WHEN I TRIED TO COMPLETE THE STROKE,THE HEAD WOULD PEEL LEAVING THE CASE STUCK IN THE DIE.I THOUGHT I WAS USING ENOUGH CASE LUBE.ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE STICKING.AND IS THERE ANY WAY TO REMOVE THE CASE WITHOUT SENDING THE WHOLE DIE BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER?
I AM RESIZING WIN.CASES,SHOT OUT OF MY REM.7600 PUMP,IN 30-06.I AM USING A FULL LENGTH RESIZING DIE(HORNADY).
ALSO,IS THERE ANY SUREFIRE WAY TO KEEP THE CASES FROM STICKING IN THE DIE,OR DO YOU HAVE TO GO BY FEEL?THANKS

I use Hornady's One Shot spray case lube... get the case wet, but not too wet.. make sure some of the lube goes into the neck as well.
You might want to have the chamber checked on the rifle... make sure it's not developing problems...
I use RCBS dies...

Are you lubing the inside of the case Neck? You could dedicate a nylon case neck brush to appling some lube, that has worked well for me when less complete methods of lubing the neck are giving marginal results.
There are kits for removing stuck cases. Basically, you drill out the base, tap it, and then use your press to pull it out. Takes a little time, but not as long as UPS.
Also, check your shell holder. Make sure you have the correct one, and it has not been damaged.

.30-06 really shouldn't be a problem. Even somewhat dry ones don't usually stick unless they came out of an autoloader or such. Razorhead and KareImp are right on in their advice. My first guess would that you either didn't apply as much lube as you though or their is a problem with the shellholder.
The RCBS stuck case remove is pretty inexpensive and easy to use. i think we all end up buying on sooner or later. I didn't need one for 25 years until last year.
I've used most flavors of lubes over the years including most of the sprays. The sprays are pretty good but for most chores I use Imperial Sizing Die wax - it's easier and works great. For known tough problems (i.e. '06 cases from an autoloader) I still go back to the pad and RCBS goop.
As for inside case necks I use a dedicated brush as KareImp mentioned and either Imperial or RCBS goo. I found the mica to be nearly worthless as a neck lube.

Are you saying that the case head is riping off or just the rim ?
If it is just the rim ,then your problem is either not enough lube ( I use Dillon spray)or a shell holder problem (replace the shell holder).
If it the whole case head then ,if you are lubeing the case enough ( I use Dillon spray) you are getting case head seperation caused by a chamber problem or a die problem (rare ,but it happens).
How many times have the cases been fired in that rifle and FL sized?
How many times has the cases been trimed ?
I junk brass when it needs trimed the fourth time .
If the cases have been trimed more than 1 time cut a case open and see and feel if the case wall is thining just over the case head.
If thining is found then erplace the brass and find out why it is happening.
How much do the cases grow each time FL sized ?
Look at a fired unsized case and compare it to a NEW case or loaded rnd .
Is the shoulder on the fired case lots farther out than the new 1 ?
Is the shoulder diamitor lots bigger?
If the cases look ok ,it time to look at the dies.
Are they new ?
Have you used them before with no problems ?
Do the FL sized cases look like new loaded rnds ?
If the shoulder is pushed back ( in some guns the extracter will hold the rim enough to let the cart. fire ) ?
If this is the case send the dies to Horndy and demand a new set.
I have several sets of Hornady dies and love them.

THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO.
JUST THE RIM IS PEELING OFF WHEN THE CASE GETS STUCK.I'VE BEEN USING HORNADY ONE-SHOT LUBE ON THE BRASS.ALL THE BRASS HAS BEEN SHOT ONLY ONCE OUT OF MY 7600 PUMP.WHEN COMPARING CASES,IT SEEMS THE LAST 1/2 INCH OF THE BODY IS A LITTLE LARGER ON THE BRASS OUT OF MY PUMP,THAN THE NEW BRASS I BOUGHT AND RESIZED FOR RELOADING.
IT SEEMS THAT WHEN THE CASES GET STUCK,THERE IS ABOUT 1/8 OF THE CASE NOT IN THE DIE.IT ALSO ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN ON THE DOWNSTROKE.WHEN ADJUSTING THE DIE,I TRY TO MAKE THE SHELLHOLDER TOUCH THE DIE JUST BEFORE CAMOVER.THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP!

Have never replied to a post before but feel I have to. You say you have a 7600 Rem. pump and are having trouble with your brass. Frist thing you need to do if you are reloading is purchace a set of small base dies then start with the min. load and work it up. Also you state the shells are sticking in your die you need just a little more lube on your case's try that and I hope it helps you

I use RCBS lube with the lube pad- never stuck a case yet. I do not lube the inside of casenecks- the tiny little bit of surface area that the ball expander exerts on will not stick a case, and I don't want to have to deal with lube getting inside the case that could potentially contaminate the powder or primer.
