I was wondering if anyone has a good duck load for a 2 3/4 inch shotgun??

I load 2 3/4 hevi shot ,not any steel loads
I will post some when I return home from work.

These loads are from Reloading Specialties, Inc and I get the componits from Bucks run sports
You must follow the loads exactly !
I use Fed gold medal cases ,I find that I get the best reloads with them .
All loads use Win. primers ,"SAM 1" wads and Alliant Steel powder.
These loads call for 1/8"felt spacers
I weigh all powder charges ,it meters poorly
I weigh all shot charges

I load 1 1/8 oz loads for decoying ducks with 7 or 6 shot
39 gr Steel powder
1 spacer over and 1 under shot
492 gr of Hevi shot ,1 1/8 oz
1575 FPS
9100 PSI

I load 1 1/4 oz loads for all around ducks with 6,5,or 4 shot
36 gr Steel powder
1 felt spacer under shot
547 gr Hevi shot , 1 1/4 oz
1450 fps
9100 PSI

I load a slightly heaver load 1 5/16 oz for geese with 4 or 2 shot
35 gr Steel powder
1 felt space under shot
570 gr hevi shot ,about 1 5/16 oz
1395 fps
9900 PSI
I have loaded Hevi shot for several years and it BLOWS steel shot away

HeviShot is THE answer!!!

But alas, unless you are either really bored or shoot several flats a season the need for reloading duckloads is shrinking. The original inventor of HeviShot is now in business for themselves (they had a 5 year agreement/non-compete with Remington and now it is out) they are marketing the EXACT product but obviously they cant call it "HeviShot" because Remington still owns the rights too that name. Instead the company is calling it "HeviSteel" and it is priced at HALF what Remington is pricing the HeviShot for.

A typical 3" duckload in HeviShot is a 10shot box in the $20 range. HeviSteel is now loading 3" HeviSteel in regular fullsize boxes (25 count) for around $24!!!

GONE is the need for anything over #4 sized and say good bye too 3.5" necessities. A good 2 3/4" gun with a modified tube full of HeviSteel will shoot circles around a 3" steel gun with a $90 aftermarket tube!!!

The only thing you need to be careful of is shooting stuff like HeviShot/Steel in old 2 3/4" guns with chokes tighter than modified. You can bulge the barrels on your favorite old A5 with such loads. Then you might need to look at Bismuth.

Hevi shot and Hevi steel are not the same .
Hevi steel is steel with tungsten add to make the pellets heavyer
This is so that the pellets will retain higher velosity than steel shot
The density of steel is about 7.8 g/cc. HEVI-SHOT® is about 12 g/cc. Hevi steel is about 1/2 way in between.
Hevi shot has always sold shells under their own name , some are loaded by Remington and some are loaded by Polywad>
The agreement that Hevishot signed with REM. is that they will not let anyone else load and market Hevi shot loads other than Hevi shot IMO
