Actually Briman, Ford, does have a Marketing department that do track customer feedback and requests. Ford is a huge contributor to ISO and several other quality tools, that my and several other companies take very seriously. Requesting an entire vehicle might be taken with a grain of salt, but a change to one piece of a vehicle would be tagged and recorded. And if enough of the feedback warrants it, they will study the price impact, and if the numbers are there, then you got a change. Squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I don't know how popular 300 RUMs are in your neck of the woods, but I've only seen one before, and I frequent a couple of different ranges, and I don't remember ever seeing one for sale in a gunshop near me. Lee manufacturing is located only about 5 miles down the road from me, so I'm wondering if the people of the factory aren't seeing the the same, if at least the local, trends I am.
If they outsold 300 WM for a year, that doesn't mean much as there are only a gazillion 300 WM in circulation. How many of the 30 RUM buyers are going to reload? maybe 5 to 10% at most? How many of thse reloaders are going to buy a Lee die? Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of them? It doesn't add up to a whole lot of dies sold.
They will work with you if you want to make a group purchase. They will make a limited run of dies at the standard price if you can find enough buyers- I think the number is around 20 or so. I know of a group that did this to buy 7.5 Swiss dies, and others who have done this to have custom bullet moulds made up- in fact MidwayUSA has a limited run of Lee moulds in 6.5 an 8mm.
Lee's customer service is definately bass ackwards, but you can't expect them to make a custom set of dies for you at regular price just because you want them to.

Bigcountry I called lee the otherday and asked that lady the same question you did, she made a comment that alot of people have been asking about a die in that caliber lately, I wonder if this thread had anything to do with it LMAO. But anyway she said that they dont have any plans to make that die basically the same speel she gave you but she sounded somewhat friendly. Maybe you got their gears turning.

Briman, I have had a few of these 300RUM, and at first I really thought it was going to take off. But in the last year, kinda started questioning it a little. I still believe it will survive. People that are slated for buying to buy 300Wthby's, might decide to take on the RUM instead. These are usually recoil junkies like myself. I have gathered alot of brass so I am not worried about it. I will probably shoot out the barrel in the next two years anyway. It is a target gun mainly. When the RUM came out, its all I saw at bass pro and cabelas. I couldn't get a Sendero in anything else hardly. Now, I see the shelfs dominated by the WSM. And the RUM toned down a tad. Its not everybody. Thats for sure.

Hey bigcountry,
I'm still worried about you not being able to figure out that "seat belts" saves lives!!!
Maybe you should wear one for a month, and use the "ticket money" you saved, to buy the die.... heee he heeee

Whats is wrong with people. Are they stupid or something. All she had to say, was "ok, I will pass that along, sorry we didn't have what you need right now, maybe we will in the future, and have a good day, glad your interested in our products".

That seat belt ain't going increase my odds that much.
My neice is doing really great in school these days, and has turned out to be a very nice little lady, but she still miss' her grandma and grandpa a LOT!!
I was driveing down a back road with my father's S10, we both had our seat belts on. I was going about 50 mph, and a couple migrant workers in a car backed out in front of me right as i was on him!! I hit them dead center pushing them over a bank, and to this day i can see my dad suspended in air against his seat belt!! He was headed for the windshield!!! Dad's S10 was all smashed up... :>(
The EMT's came for the two in the car, as they didn't have seat belts on, and were rattled all over in that car!!! We were fine and managed to get back home.
I can go on with more instances untill everyone gets VERY bored!!!
I just hate to loose another pro-gunner!!!
