Stick, ball, flake - which?

Yes, you are right! Bullseye IS a flake powder. However, it seems to me that the flakes are very small, and much denser than the flakes in a powder such as Unique. It therefore measures much more uniformly in a powder measure than Unique and other flake powders of similar grain characteristics.

For pistol I don't think there is a choice for stick powder (at least not one that I am aware of) they are usually for rifle cases. Besides, stick doesn't meter well, so I wouldn't use it for loading a large volume of cartriges anyway.
I use Accurate #2 for plinking loads (I can get it cheap, it doesn't take a lot to get a good load, and it is fairly accurate). But I don't load for extreme target accuracy. For full power hunting loads in .45colt I use Win296, and I'm sure that it shoots better than I can.

Thanks eldeg, I have been using unique for my 44 mag shooting. Why? Somebody suggested it for target shooting. So thats what I have been using. But it is so dirty and meters so bad. I might try some bullseye behind my 240gr lasercast. Is it any cleaner in a 44 mag situation?
I use Unique for really hot 40S&W loads too, but it is very clean in those high pressures. But if bullseye works well in my 44, I might try it with my 40 too.
