trying to set up a 243 with a 1 in 9 1/2 barrrel twist for next year deer season
I have in mind speer 105 SP bullet hot core
Sierra SBT 100 grain
Powder IMR4895 4350 4064 4831
Powder Rel 19
Powder H-4350 H-4831
I am leaning more for the 4350 only because I also reload for the 7mm-08
I check speer manual funny they only show IMR 4350,4831
with there 105 grain bullet
The sierra has more to offer using IMR powders they show 3031 4895 4064 I don't understand why one bullet company almost using the same bullet has a large spread when it come to loads with different powders

What range do you usually get your shots???
I've killed 30 or so with the Sierra GameKing 85gr HPBT...This is an excellent bullet especially at longer ranges...
I've killed another 20 or so with the Sierra GameKing 100gr SPBT and believe it or not I got just as many exits with the 85gr as the 100gr...
Now, if you are looking at a good close range, harder bulled for woods hunting, I'd suggest the
100gr CoreLokt, Hornady InterLokt or the Nosler Partition...

I use the Barnes 85 gr TSX in my 243 Wins and 6mm Rem. myself . I used to use the 85 gr Sierra bullets but I don't get as much bloodshot with the Barnes bullets .

I used both this deer season. 100 gr. sierra gk and H414 out of savage .243, took a 105 lb doe at 150 yds, broke down far should. She went about 10 yds. 105 gr speer and imr4831 out of 6mm-06, took a 150 lb. buck quartering to me at 175 yds. drt, no exit.
I've had good terminal results with both. Most guns shoot the 100 gr gk well. Some are picky with the speers.

Sierra 85gr. HPBT do it all bullet from deer at close range to well over 100 yards. Crows become a floating feather cloud, coyoytes it pops their eyeballs out.
IMR 4831 and go by the Sierra 50th annveresy maunal.
A recent shooting session with the 243 and above load.
