Default Newbie to Reloading: How to use Mica??

How do you use Mica to lube the inside of the case neck? I got a small container of Mica when I purchased the RCBS Case Prep Center and I want to try it.

I assume you would just dip the case mouth into the Mica, push a brush through the case andthen resize. Correct???

Do you simply dip the case mouth into the Mica and then resize?

Thanks.

I would imagine you would dip the case in teh stuff. I asked around a few years ago about dry lubes, and nobody else used them either. Be sure to let me know what you find. I always use Imperial and swab it on a brush and push it thru. But always wondering about new tricks.

Case Neck Dipper
Prolongs case life and makes resizing easier by cleaning and lubricating the interior of bottleneck cases. After cleaning with brushes, dip the case mouths into dry lube to reduce friction from sizing die expander button. Includes 3 brushes and dry mica for cleaning all cases from .17 to .45 caliber.
Case Neck Dipper complete (2 oz.) Item #7631360

From Lyman's site: http://www.lymanproducts.com/lymanproducts/index.htm

Used it for years.

One-shot lube also works well: http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=000059992

I dip the neck in the mica, tap it on the side of the bowl, and size. That's all there is to it. Works great with Redding dies with the floating carbide expander balls.

`I use it. I like it better than the gel or liquids as it won't contaminate the powder charge should any get left in there. It also seems if I just do every 10th case or so it gets on the expander ball and lasts a while.

Like the man says-dip and size-there is no need to brush the inside...Good luck
