LOL I know how frangible most 130's are from a 270...I cant imagine shooting anything with a 90 gr and not expecting to totally destroy it. Shot a groundhog with a 70 grain from a 243 once...hehehehe...it was a sight to behold..

Loads are designed to expand at a certain distance when it strikes certain densities. Match the load and you have a match made in heven.

Just wondering if it is possible to load an easier hitting Varmint round to save the fur on Fox? I usually shoot IMR4350 55g-57r loads (also 4864)which is great for yotes cause bullet rarely exits. So what would be minimum I could use to get my 90 gr Sierra HP to expand like it should but try to minimize exit holes?

I found that the 130's 140's and the 150's out of the 270 will blow a yote to pieces. If fox is on the agenda,I'd be following Ridge Runners advice, and get myself a 22 magnum. BTW, a 22 magnum will flatten a yote with authority too. The 22 hornet is an excellent round for them too. Dunno how many I have shot with that, and they fold up like a blanket.
