Mine shoots most bullets great, every other one I've shot shoots great. I wouldn't own a Savage if it was given to me.

My question is what are you trying to do with it? If your after a target rifle, then you better buy one..No sence wasteing your money trying to do what you can't....And if someone gave me a gun I would take it..Even if it was a 22-250 that would shoot 1750 yards..[8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]

I'm just trying to get the Bergers to shoot good. It will be used for deer hunting and coyotes.

Well, have you give it any thought that the rifle just doesn't like that bullet..

I had a win.30-06 that would not shoot a boat tail worth a dam..But the flat
base bullet was a different story..I finally admited defeat and just got more
flat base's and left it at that..Rifle twist-MV-Barrel Crown-amount of free
bore if any, powder type-all can be a major factor here...

I tried the berger vlds in my 7mm ultra mag and accuracy was horrible. Could not find a oal that worked and accuracy wasover 3 inches at 100. Same gun shoots under an inch at 200 yards with partitions or accubonds. I use retumbo in ultra mag.
In my 7 mag I liked Re 22 with 154 ssts
Nothing wrong with ruger
