What is the difference between a Federal 215 and a Federal 215M?
Are these primers interchangeably in loads? Does the M (match) mean they have tighter tolerances? Any help is appreciated.

Hey haug, bigcountry and I have had this discussion before. He likes to shoot the Match primers and i shoot the standards, IMO since I dont shoot for competition, the standards are great! I know to me the difference in price isnt worth it, but Big boy might disagree.

Thanks to all who responded. As soon as the weather clears here in Washington I am going to get out to the range to shoot some new loads. That should be sometime in April.
I have been focusing on tightening the tollerances on all my reloaded ammo and am anxious to see the results. I may be crazy with all this precision and crazy trying to get near match results out of a hunting rifle, but it sure is fun.

One of the gun mags had an article about Federal ammo not too long ago and addressed the Match vs. regular primer difference. The process and ingredients are identical. The difference is that the priming mixture is applied manually and some employees have a better knack for consistency. These stellar employees are the ones that are producing your Match primers.
I know, sounds like BS but this is Federal's story.
