225 gr. Barnes X RL-22 Min. 73.0 grs. @ 2782 f/s; Max. 78.0 grs. @ 2919 f/s. As always start with Min. load. Three shot groups .75" @ 100 yds. I used this data for my cousins Browning A-Bolt; he has killed 4 oryx with this load. All animals were shot in the shoulder; they were all pass throughs execpt 1. Max distance was 200 yds. Good luck.

Not going to telyou the weights, but for me RL 19 for my hunting loads, as it give s me a bit more velocity, and practice use RL 22, for lower pressure.

ONe of the really neat thigs about the 338, is in the lower 48, any weight of bullet works. I prefer the 250 gr as it doesn't get shoved around by the wind and carries its energy all the way out, but a 200 holds its own, and is plenty hard hitting.
