Default Barnes Bullets/why & how ?

Why are these legal,to hunt with, but FMJ's aren't[here in Pa.] ?They are just as much a FMJ or solid bullet,as you can get.
I want a bullet to enter and expand, transfer the energy to truma and shock power. Too many sites and people trying them, state that they pass right through the game and leave the same size hole on both sides ,after finding the game. They tend to run off !
Copper is 3 times harder than lead . How can it open enough to cause the transfer of energy,at standard bullet speeds?
At twice the price of lead jacketed bullets, how can a person afford to play with them,or would want to,to get them shooting half ways proper? This is another gripe I've read about them ! They don't shoot accurately ,foul the barrel and you need a special manual ,to load them .
They sound cool, but I think they will pass, like all fads?
What do you think of them???<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

They are legal to hunt with because they are an expanding bullet. Some lead core jacketed bullets are twice the price of barnes.(bear claws for an example)

I have killed two elk with Barnes X bullets; the bull traveled 30 yds. after being hit behind front shoulder, the cow was hit in the spine died before it hit the ground. My cousin has killed 4 oryx with Barnes X loads I made for him. All were hit square through both shoulders, and dropped immediately. Three were all pass throughs except one, and that bullet retained 99% weight. A friend of mine shot a cow almost parallel to him with a Barnes X bullet. The bullet went through about five feet of animal and retained 87% weight. The cow piled up after 20 yds. Another friend of mine killed a cow with a Barnes X bullet this year; it took two steps and piled up.

Barnes X bullets are not any more expensive than Nosler Partitions. One can never have enough Reloading Manuals. If I start out with a clean barrel, they don't foul any more than any other bullet. In my 340 Wby. Mag. I get .408&quot; with a 250 Gr. Barnes X bullet. In my 30-06 I get .60&quot; with a 200 Gr. Barnes X Bullet. I guess they either like your rifle or they don't just like any other bullet. I believe in Barnes X bullets, and think they are here to stay. Good luck.
