just got a batch of 200 once fired PMC brass with military primer crimps. I played around with a couple ideas for inexpensive alternatives to remove the crimp last night. I figured out that a counter sink bit works great I fixed up 30 cases last night this way and loaded them up and gonna hit the range in a few hours with them. I dont think im gonna bother trying anything else aswell as the counter sink worked. dont waste your money on anything else a counter sink is just few bucks compared to 20 for that rcbs deal.

Has anybody tried seating primer with the crimp? I just bought up like 1500 rounds of XM193, and last night took apart one, wieghted the charge and removed the primer. Primer came out easy enough. And I was able to put another primer in. the edge of the primer cup is rather sharp and not rounded. I wonder what problems it will cause.

I didn't think I would be able to seat the primer with the sharp edge there.

A few will seat OK, but most will cock the primer and mess it up.

Re-priming without moving the crimp could lead to a blownprimer. It takes about five seconds to remove the crimpwith a case neck chamfering tool. Do not even need a drill, just turn it by hand. Been doing it for 30 years, works for me.
