I want to try the Oregon Trail Lazr Cast bullets 405 gr to work up a load for my 45-70. Oregon trial says they are for the 45-70, but they are .459 dia instead of the normal .458 dia. Does this slight difference mattter? I am shooting a marlin 1895 Cowboy. Any help would be appreiciated.
Thanks in advance

Have you ever used the Oregon Cast Bullets? I like the Sierra 300 gr Pro Hunters and the 300 gr Hornady's. I was trying to find something a little cheaper to practice with. My gun likes IMR 4895 w/ CCI200 primers.

I shoot the Oregon Trails in all three of my 45-70's. Because they are hard cast, the .459 works extremely well. A .458 would better if you were shooting softer 20-1 or 30-1 lead as they will "bump up" in the barrell. I find 3031 to be the best powder so far. I also, load 3f Goex Express with great results. I'm also, using the Cast Performace bullets and the Beartooth bullets. Between the 3, they are all pretty equal shooters the only difference is the weights, 420-430 grains, for the ones I'm using.
