I myself do not trust Sierra data and definately not the techs. Dave brown and Paul Box seem ok. None of it is taken with a pressure barrel, and every issue they have, loads vary greatly. I even see where a heavier bullet has same max loads for a lighter one. And I will never talk to that Duane Serics, or treece. Guys, they are people, not the end all be all of reloading. There is dozens of articles out there in precision rifle, handloader and other, that discuss this. We have all read them.

BigCountry, I totally agree with you. I read Reloader magazine, Rifle magazine etc., plus I have the Cartridges of the World book and have been reading the ABC's of reloading book and all will tell you that there are several ways to go about things. Since I have been coming to this site I have met a lot of generous and courtious people, and only a handful of the other kind. You guys helped me in gaining the confidence in trying reloading, not just by telling me to try it, but by helping me in getting an idea on what is needed, telling me of some great references and at times taking me by the hand and pointing me in the right direction. Just because something isnt listed in a book, or recomended by a manufacturer doesnt mean that it cannot be done, or even shouldnt be done if the right precautions are taken. The problem is that we now live in a world run by doctors and lawyers and because some dumbass packed 85 grains of H110 into his .270 load and used a 170 gr bullet and a magnum primer the rest of us arent supposed to use magnum primers in a standard long rifle load. (note that was just a made up example, but you get my point). Honestly, from what I have read it is probably more dangerous to use a large rifle primer in a magnum load than the other way around. But I am not one to vary things too much from what has been proven. I got started in reloading because I wanted to be able to shoot more for my money. It is a good activity for my oldest son and I to do together and my youngest boy (5 in a couple of days) has learned a lot of valuable lessons about being responsible as well.
