It also depends upon your surroundings. If you are in heavy brush all the time with close shots or 1/4 mi clear beanfield shots. I would take the 150-165 TSX's. But they have to shoot accurately in your rifle. None of the bullets you've listed are bad. (I haven't tried the accubonds) My experience is with whitetails over beanfields with very few shots under 200 yards. (I used the 130 TSX/XLC's there) I also eat my kills so I stay away from lead bullets. If it is bad for ducks to eat lead......Never got an elk and the closest I came to a bear was with my car. I was glad for that miss!

I ordered a box of the 165 TSX's and I will give them a try. If I can't find a good load or if I don't like what I see when I do the wet newspaper tests Ill go to the 180NP as a backup.

My one area of concern with the TSX's was the reports I have read of the X bullets "pencilling' through with limited evidence of expansion. However it seems that many or most of the reports were from folks shooting them 200-400FPS faster than I will withthe 06.So Ill see how it goes.

Many thanks for all the replies.

If you could have just one bullet for a 30-06 for the 48 states deer/elk/moose/black bear what would you choose?

a) 180 Nosler partition
b) 165 TSX/MRX
c) 180 TSX/MRX
d)165 Accubond
e) 180 Accubond

if i had to pick from your choices i would probably go with the 180 noslers, but ultimately i wouldnt pick any from your list. i would use my good ol winchester 180gr silvertips. they have been working for my and30-06 very well , so i stick with that.

P.S. If a moderator wanted to make this a poll that would be great
I'd choose a premium 165-grainer - it will shoot as flat as a 150 grain, and will penetrate as well as a 180- I'd choose a TSX, a Partition, or the Accubond. They would be loaded to as close to 2900 FPS as I could get with acceptable accuracy.

IF you are concerned that the X bullets might not expand, use a Partition-they ALWAYS expand, and PENETRATE as well.......

I use the 180 partitions inmy '06 and the 180 Accubonds inmy 300Ultra. So I would lean towards those 2 with the Accubond leading the pack.
