.32 winchester special

He put a 4X Bushnell on it a few year before he passed. I honestly don’t use the scope other then to count tines. (4 on a side in my county) I find the iron sights to be more reliable, especially at the 50 yd shots! I was thinking of upgrading the iron sights, but i think i want to keep just as he had it. I plan on getting my first tag filled with the 7 mag, then try with the old 32.
I've found two fifferent, but very close measurements. is this gun .321 or .323? I cant find any 150's in the .321 only .323
One site even classes the .323 as '8 mm/32 cal'
Whats the Deal!?!?!

However, I had a C.Sharps Arms New Model 1875 in .32/40 in which I had no difficulty at all in using both Hornady and Speer 8mm (.323") bullets in its .321" groove diameter barrel.
The key is, "does the cartridge neck expand enough on firing to freely release the bullet?" If the answer to this is YES, you can use the .323" bullets. All you have to do is to take one of the .323" bullets and a FIRED CASE fromyour rifle's chamber, and see if it will allow you to slip the bullet into the case. If the case admits the bullet and it slides freely down into the empty case, then back out, you can shoot those bullets in that gun.
However, of course, you have to use FLATNOSE bullets in a tubular magazine, unless you can content yourself with a round in the chamber and one in the magazine while hunting. If you are a careful, good shot, two shots is enough.
In European nomenclature, the .32 Win Special would be called something like "7.9X52Rmm or "8X52R".
