I shoot WinchesterBallistic SilverTips out of my 30-06 and ive been wanting to get into reloading and in anticipation of this ive always saved all my spent shells, But im curious can I reload these shells? They arnt the typical brass cases they're silver but not made of aluminum so I wanna know can these be reloaded or should I toss them? Thanks, Sean

yes what you have is nickel plated brass, they can be reused. Alot of guys on here do not like them because they are harder and more brittle. However I like them and in 2 of my guns thats all I use. I wouldnt scrap them, unless you wanna give em to me

I have no first hand experience. Here's what I've gathered:
Pros: They don't tarnish
They look cool
Cons:They (the nickel) is harder and so it wears you dies worse and dulls case trimmers etc.
Some guys say the nickel will separate from the underlying brass...but this usually after several several reloads.

The nickle cases look good and they stay looking good.
When they are ejected into the leaves or grass they are easy to find.
I bought a bunch of nickle.45 ACP cases just for that reason...they were easier to find at the gunrange. Unfortunatley, they are brittle and will crack after the 3rd or 4th reload. I shot them up until they were gone. The brass cases will outlast the nickel ones by several times.
If you tumble your brass before you reload them, they wont be a problem on dies.
