SST, Swift Scirrico for deer?

Power, I don't have it all figured out but have decided on the SST for this year. Now I just need my deer to cooperate. I was hoping to test it out on my 2 doe tags, but as luck would have I tagged both of them out with my ML. So I hope this one, shows himself again or his brother. Actually I have 3 buddies now going to run them, so I should have some experiences to share by the end of Nov. I will definately share them. Good luck in finding your elk and whatever else you'll be tailing?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Herman, thanks for your input. I haven't heard to much from here on the SST, so I appreciate it. However I have heard quite a bit at the range and clubhouse, most think they are pretty good WT bullets. I guess it is like anything else, really don't know till you try.
Good luck to all and may your lead find the boiler room<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!

Good luck to you too Skeeter.
I am using 175g Partitions now and I think I'll keep with them for a while. Talked to some old hunters and they swear by them. I can get them to shoot ok in my gun too.
Managed to get my Elk this year with them;

I think I'll keep using them for a while unless I start reading more good stuff from the folks here about a newer, better bullet.

Power congrats on the elk, them are good eats in your hand. Hey how did your wife make out on Mule deer and elk (i think)?
Thanks for the boost. I am a week out until we head up to my cabin, should be full swing rut for the wt's. 2 of the 3 guys coming with are shooting SST's, they also have doe tags to fill so should be some input for sure. I will post the results of the SST for sure.

Well I am back and the SST performed just like Nosler BT's on 5 deer. Big holes, big damage and short travels for the deer. My deer was a true hawg tipping the scales at 300 dressed, we esitmate his live weight was a good 350. Using the 154gr SST out of my 7 Rem Mag, I hit him at 100 yards through the right side and out the left shoulder. It completely tore the lungs and heart apart ( the bottom of the heart was the only vital organ able to disgunish the rest was all jello) and wrecked the left shoulder. The only thing holding the left shoulder on was hide and some tissue...a real mess. The deer never took a step, went down in a heap, went uff and that was all she wrote. I never have liked shoulder shots but since I had the rib on the right side and knew the left would offer backing I took the shot, it worked out better than I would have ever thought (except the waste of the left front shoulder).
The other deer taken with the SST were out of 06 in 150Gr, with similar results as you know from the nosler BT's. Big holes and lost of damage, the longest travel was 100 Yards. I would say definetely exceptable and what i would expect. However any claims that the SST is more solid is pure bull they behaved just like the BT, IMO. I will have no trouble loading them for deer again, but only if they continue to out shoot my BT's on paper. Fine bullet none the less and if you are looking to save some cash they are cheaper than Nosler BT's if they will shoot the same for you.
Thats my season and field report on the SST. Now I just have to wait 10 more months to start all over again......BOOOOOOOO.
