Default 70gr Barnes Tripple Shock for .223 Recomended Twist Rate.

I posted a question a while back about the 70gr Tripple Shock in my .223 with a 1:12 twist barrel. Well I was at Cabelas Friday and they had some. They put a sticker on the box were you open the snap that said Recomended Twist Rate 1:7 to 1:8. Just thought everyone whould want to know.

Thanks, Gundigest. Sounds very consistent with my experience. Just for general information, what is the overall length of this bullet? Roskoe

I couldn't tell you, I just looked at them, but they are quite long.

Based on a photo in a magazine, I calculated the length at about 1.110 - just about the same as the 77 Sierra. And based on the required twist as stated on the box, it looks like they are about as difficult to stabilize as the 77 gr. Sierra as well . . . .

Bet they would go through a deer end-for-end.

I would like to shoot a deer with my .223 but only if it was a good hunting bullet like and x bullet or a partition. My biggest problem is that if a monster buck stepped out I would want my 7x57, 06, or 300 WSM just in case I don't have a perfect shot.
