Way to go Al
I got a moose but it wasn't "my moose".
A few days back I found the paddle of a moose antler broken off in a fight. The bog birch was all broken down and there was hair on the ground and clods of moss and mud thrown around. They must have had quite a scrap.
Well I saw a bull yesterday around noon on a pipeline just a couple hundred yards from where I had found the moose paddle. He only had one paddle. He was with another smaller bull. I wish I could have shot him and glued his paddle back on. It would have made an interesting conversation piece. But I already had a spike meat bull in the back of my truck. I saw a cow and calf about 9:00am and and I circled around them and did a little calling. They came to take a look and a spike bull was in tow. I gave him a fatal case of lead poisoning with my Savave 99 in .300 savage. I put three shot through his chest in about as many seconds.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! Moose meat.
