The law says "the caribou must remain identifyble, gutted or quartered..". We were ging out way late of when we should have left - I think we got to K381 at 11:00pm - some guys were there that had animals quartered and the fish cop was having a fit since they were skinned and just the raw qtr was packed - you could not tell if it was elk or bou. Its a good idea to leave most of the leg and don't skin the meat as the hide keeps it clean and preserved for the trip. The animals need to also be packed seperately in a closed container with one sectiontagged - makesure the tag is on the meat - just like in the states. Keepthe legs for yourdogs - mine are thinking of there 8 as we speak!

Yeah they are moving down. They have entered 22B, which is the NON Resident hunting zone, but not anywhere near the roads. They are in the upper most Northwest part of 22B and headedSouth towards 22A, the Resident zone.

The pattern llok real close to last year, but still up further than 2004 which is good. If they stay around Lac Claire through Oct, the next hold is Lac Bieniville to get them past Thanksgiving. If they start moving South into Laforge Res afterthe 27thand keep comming we shpuld all have animals from thentill week 2 Dec migrating through. The nature guys have said the heardis over650K and this means alot of5-10K groups comming through each day.Big ones up front and protecting the rear should give us all a great huntbeing in the area for 3 or 4days.
You allwear your thermals,-10C Dec 01 is the prediction, although not real coldas compared to some years.I am having troublehunting white tail as I keep seeing bou!

NQCB; Thanks for the update, Here in Michigan deer archery seasons isin, with gun season opens Nov-15. With that said; I think that everyone who visits this site has a great passion for the caribou this is by far my favorite hunt, in my opinion, the meat is much better than deer.
Thanks again for the detail posting, good luck deer hunting."How about them Tigers"!!!

This will get you to the migration map. We leave for Mirage in 45 days. Too early to tell but migration looks similar to last year. That would put the first animals at the Trans Road about the 27th of Nov.
