The law says "the caribou must remain identifyble, gutted or quartered..". We were ging out way late of when we should have left - I think we got to K381 at 11:00pm - some guys were there that had animals quartered and the fish cop was having a fit since they were skinned and just the raw qtr was packed - you could not tell if it was elk or bou. Its a good idea to leave most of the leg and don't skin the meat as the hide keeps it clean and preserved for the trip. The animals need to also be packed seperately in a closed container with one sectiontagged - makesure the tag is on the meat - just like in the states. Keepthe legs for yourdogs - mine are thinking of there 8 as we speak!
