CWCJR119,
I hope so. We talked to some guys that were hunting on LG1 at 22-25 and they didnt have much for snow today. We will find out tomorrow. I just wanted to let everyone know what its like where were at today, maybe they would think about bringing a 4 wheeler instead of a sled. Alot of 4 wheelers out right now.

Taco, you are right there is no snow at Radison, but as you travel East you will come across ice on the roads and snow and ice on the lakes. There is not as much snow as a person would like to see with a snowmachine but there is enough to use it.
As far as 4 wheelers go, they would be tough to use in the terain on the Tiaga and there are so many lakes you wouldn't be able to get too far anyway.
I agree that finding caribou in 22B may be difficult but there are animals there.
Mirage will be sending out the airplane to spot animals and inform the hunters each night of the movements and any groups coming through.
It's just one of those years where the caribou have already gone through and it could be difficult to find stragglers to tag out.
As time goes on and all the lakes freeze and more snow comes, guys will be able to run their snowmobiles south to the groups and get animals, but right now you can't get to the animals that are south because of open water (rivers and some lakes) and lack of deep snow.
You might consider getting a guide at Mirage if you can, they know where the animals are because of the airplane, just my opinion.
Anyway, I wish you the best and hope you do well, keep us informed once you get there.

Hi guys we left donats on Thursday 26th only 4 bous for 8 guys in 4 full days of hunting with groups split up we went in 3 - 4 miles with machines several times ( limited by open water and not enough snow to cover larger rocks , still not much activity, lakes are to be used with caution , was the warmest hunting i have seen up there yet , I talked with guy at check point he said that it was cold in oct. lakes froze bous moved down and just kept going , he said herd is now 400 km south of check point at some lake i dont remember ?? maybe lake matagami ?? only saw a a few bous on the way in none on the way out , still had a great time we have a great bunch that understands hunting is not all about the kill but about the time we spend together as great friends and the new friends we make while hunting / we all plan on returning next year most likely at another outfitter / maybe one that has power recep. in the rooms and dosnt limit the shower time enough about that!!!!! good luck guys

yes only 100 collars but only females have collars and they are in front of the migration ..bulls follow behind them ..this time of the year caribou are bunched together ,so you should get a good idea were they're heading ...

with the showers and all. back in 2001 i learned from the other hunters to use a light bulb socket adapter to get electricity to my truck heater. i ran a cord out the window. back then they would just take the phone off the hook when the caribou werent in the area. they did leave a long message saying they were in the area though. i dont blame you for using a better outfitter. northern caribou adventures still is at the top of my old time crappy outfitters award. i would run far away. get on the list for the mirage if i were you. glad to see you at least seen and got a few.

Hey Slokie, we are suppose to hunt the 8 to 12th up at kiss, I have been up there 3 other times, this one is different! Looking for help on the decission to go, have the option to go next year for a reduced cost, would like to make a decission based on facts not outfitters perceptions.

Good morning,
From all indications and reports, the caribou are not there. So I would take the deal from Kistimistakan. The later it gets, the less there is going to be. But then again, I am an outfitter who's hunted up there for 15 years.
