Happy new year everyone!!

Nice buck Dan! They look so cool when they're all iced up like that. The one I shot in Sask was so frozen up he could barely open his eyes.

Hia, Nice work on the euro! I'm going to do my Sask deer this week. The antler mounts look good too. That's way early to be finding sheds. Hopefully you don't get too much more snow. From the sounds of it another hard winter out there would really set the deer back.

I found my first shed on the 30th. I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked it up. Two years in a row the first one has been a mulie.

Santa was good to me this year. We got an new DSLR (Nikon D40x) and my wife gave me a new pair of snowshoes. In a few more days i'll get out and really break them in. If this year's is anything like last year, the whitetails should start dropping any day now.

Hope you all had a safe and happy new year.

Sask.

Hope all had a good Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Nice work Hia. I like Euro's, they are a bit of work but a nice change from skull caps.

Excellent score Saska on the christmas haul...again. Best of luck shedding.

I found my first shed as well this afternoon in mySMZ spot, single 5/130 class whitetail.

Cheers

O.K. I'll copy and past the story from my forum.........The official score is 164 gross 155 7/8 net.
So I just got back to the land of the internet. Finally. Seems a bit odd to be home again if ever so briefly. I harvested a real dandy buck on Holloween as foretold by Shane himself...lol. I have trailcam pictures of this buck over two years. Not that they really helped me nail down this fella's core range but I knew he was not a transient buck and he was in the area. Harvesting him was very emotional for me and a real highlight of the fall. He is definately a 5 1/2 year old deer and likely was around the 300 lb range.

scanned 2007 photo's of the dagger buck. About 165" gross typical 10 with two non-typical points at bases. 20" inside spread. 5.5" bases and good mass all the way out. 8 and 7" brows.

Same buck in 2006. Probably 145ish then.

I'll write more of a story soon....lol. Good luck to everyone still out there! Man lot's to catch up on and some terrific animals harvested by members!!

If you want to see the rest of my 2007 season it is in my journal at the following link (It is an Ontario hunting forum I'm involved with): Renegade's 2007 Hunting journal

For JD--The white color of the antler your holding, is that the normal for shed color or is it an old shed?

Great buck Rene, congrats! Great pics as well, except for the rifle pointed right at you.
