Anyone have a copy of this or know where to get it. I've been told as soon as the gun Reg. is go , you better know your rights because your going to need them. The No# 1 thing I've heard is "Do not invite Law Inforcement into your residents" that gives them the right to check for firearms and charge without a search warrant. has anyone else heard this?...BT

YES YES YES I know what you are talking about, I bought the book from the lawyer that wrote it( at the hunting show in To) a couple of years ago,IT will open your eyes to the powers AND abuses by big brother, I cant find it at the moment as we are renovating our house and its packed in a box somewhere, BE ASSURED that I will not forget to get back to you about this. I got a question that hasn't been answered properly (it's stupid) but I would like an answer.

Gun Storage as pertains to the law.
Do you have to have a double saftey mechanism. Meaning a locked cabinet and a trigger lock? I have a Oak gun cabinet that I build many moons ago, I replaced the nice etched glass doors with a solid door, that are masked as drawers really. It is mounted flush with some shelves in my storage room and matches the other shelves i made--hidden concept!! I have a keyed pad lock on the unit. I do own some trigger locks, but not all my guns have them on. So if they wanted to search my dwelling would this be conceived as legal and proper storage of my firearms? BTW I have 2 keyed passage doors to this area as well, however most times i leave them unlocked...as it is storage.

I think you're OK as-is Skeeter, in fact, a gun cabinet isn't even required if you can keep the door of the room they are stored in locked. Obviously they must be unloaded, personally I keep all my ammo locked in a separate box, away from my gun cabinet.

For anyone that is genuinely worried about these things there is no excuse not to join the Canadian Firearms Association (CFA). Membership is inexpensive, and they are actively fighting to protect our civil rights.

BOSSTOM, in regards to the police, ONLY the Firearms Officer of the province is athourized to enter your home to look for guns. AND then only if he believes that you have more than 10 guns AND ONLy if he has a search warrant.
