Wait a go Dan "o"
! Bow or the 7 mag? Look forward to seeing some pics of your hum and haw buck...lol!
JD, I am not so sure you could buya lot ofland close to a major city with your profits from the house here but you'd certainly be able to buy upgrade or downgrade and have little to no mortgage on house in those same cities. As far as draftsman I think you could get a job in very little time. I know a number who are coming back due to housing, busy, etc if trained/experienced finding position haven't been to hard. No you don't have to cheer for the Riders but when the Stamps come to town with our former golden child you better just stay home and listen on the radio or TV instead...LOL
!
Well last night I tore down the savage for a complete clean job to be shelfed for this year. Well I'll be ifmeeze didn't find a small problem!!That darefront screw in my leupold frontbase was sheered plum off..huh! I slapped her back together with some warne maxima rings/bases and did a rough bore sight job usingda neighbours hub cap..hehe! Imanaged to slip to the range at lunch hour, here is the results:
Like I said "if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!!!"....WTF
I am pleased that the scope checks out(JDshould bring a smile to your face[8D]the zeiss is AOK). The savagehas beencalled up to the active roster. HUM DINGER
I am still giving the mulies a break. This weekend wife works so hanging with the girls, next weekend my partners mom and dad are having an auction sale so will be heading there to help but may sneak in a whitetail hunt with smokepole. I am planning to take off some time to hunt in november so have to make hay now so it looks pretty bleak at this point.

Does that buck ever get em runnin!
TOo bad I never see articles (or rarely) of huge whiteeys comin from my parts!
Lookin real forward to seein your buck Hia - maybe i missed it, but is it a whitetail or mule deer? Either one (ESPECIALLY Whites!) 160 is a gorgeous buck!
Im excited for after next Tuesday - one of my exams got pushed up so that means Ive got two weeks of no exam time - Im really hoping to get alot of hunting in! Shoul dbe good though, as even after that Ive only got one exam before end of season, so I should beable to put in some good time prior to season close (Nov. 24.)
Do you guys ever find that mulie does band up a bit more right prior to the chase phase (2-3 weeks prior to full rut?)
Keep us all updated!

Congrats on the buck Hia, can't wait to see the pics!
As for myself. I haven't had much luck on my quest for a cow elk. I've got close to the a few times but they rarely stay in the field more than a few minutes after legal light so getting a shot has proven tough. This morning a buddy and I went back to try again. We've got some snow up here and the animals have really started hitting the feedbag. In the end, all we saw were two bulls, two moose and a bunch of whitetails.
After the elk flop at dawn this morning we headed for some alfalfa/stubble fields we nicknamed the magic hill because deer magically appear out of nowhere at all times of the day. We both have mulie doe tags and before we even got set up we had spotted a small group of mulies. after a short stalk and a minute to set up the video camera we counted to three and shot at the same time.
Mine dropped right away and my partners went down shortly after his second shot. Here are the pictures from this morning along with the pics of a 1 1/2 old doe I got last weekend.

The best part of the elk hunting so far has been all the kick*ss whitetail spots we've found. In the past week we've secured permission on about 30 quarters, so we should be able to find a few decent bucks in november. I think i'll wait until december to bother the elk again.

Skeeter...good to hear about the scope, those groups look dandy to me. Didn't understand what you meant on that giant w.t. pic "did you notice the scope fing" ?? WTF??? That thing is beautiful and I know the Big Buck article you speak of.
Sask, nice mulies! Looks like your season is off to a great start.
I'm off for an evening hunt but the weather is less than great. Windy & rain hopefully turning to snow tonight but I think it's too warm. Off tomorrow for deer/pheasants so hopefully I'll have some good pics come Monday. Good luck to all heading out this weekend!!

Aye - g'luck to everyone this weekend. I wont be out much
The scope fing - he got f**ked by his scope - take alook inbetween his eyes, he must have been shooting at an odd angle and bit it in the face. I did one of these this spring on a black bear I shot - he was on a steep angle down the road from me and crouched my face felt some of the .300 WinMag's anger!
Lol good luck this weekend!
