Default Best Rifle Scopes for the Money: A Comprehensive Guide

Based on my search, here are some of the best rifle scopes for different price ranges:
  • Best High-End: NightForce NXS 5.5-22X56
  • Best Under $2000: Swarovski Optik Z5 3.5-18X44 P (BT) L
  • Best Under $1000: Vortex Optics Viper PST Gen II 5-25X50 FFP
  • Best Under $500: Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10x40 (1 inch)
  • Best Under $400: Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 6-24X50
  • Best Under $300: Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12X40
  • Best Under $200: Vortex Optics Diamondback 4-12X40
  • Best Under $100: CVLIFE 2.5-10X40e
Please note that the “best” scope can vary depending on your specific needs and use cases, such as the type of shooting or hunting you plan to do. It’s always a good idea to consider factors like reticle type, magnification range, objective lens diameter, and the specific features of the scope that will meet your needs before making a purchase.

I’m not sure why so many bots and infiltrating advertisers have permeated and propagated this thread over the years, but for anyone actually alive and reading this thread, the NXS definitely is not the best “high end” scope on the market, not even within Nightforce’s brand, and the outdated Viper PST II isn’t the best optic around $1000. The lower list of import crap is also just that - crap. That list above makes very little sense - the scopes listed are VERY different tools, having an FFP 34mm 5.5-22x56mm tactical scope on the same list as a tiny 3.5-10x40mm 1” SFP hunting scope is just silly.

A $300 SWFA SS Classic will out perform most of the scopes the "advertiser" listed. Far more durable and they actually track/return to zero.
