All that I can add is that every Zeiss product I have ever had has been excellent. Rugged, never any problems, excellent performance in low light, clean crisp images.

Default Meopta vs Zeiss

According to my scope supplier:

The Meopta Meostar and the Zeiss Conquest are the same scopes. Meopta makes the glass for these Zeiss scopes and sends it to the US for Zeiss assembly. The difference in cost is $150 to $250.

Meopta also makes the glass for many other european manufs like Swarovski. Swarovski and Zeiss put their own coatings on their lenses.

I own a Meostar 4-12 X 50 and a Meopta Meostar 3-12 x 56.

Great scopes.
